happy april fool's day. today is friday. tomorrow is monday (and no, that is not a joke, we have to make up holiday classes on the weekends- i think i'll never fully understand it either. haha)

had a short skype conversation with an old student from blue sky today haha...

[12:52:54 PM] Jodi: doing well, happy april fools day
[12:53:15 PM] T: haha, today is my birthday
[12:53:23 PM] Jodi: is that a joke?

[12:54:00 PM] Jodi: how old are you now?
[12:54:06 PM] T: thx
[12:54:06 PM] T: 23
[12:54:07 PM] Jodi: are u doing anything to celebrate??
[12:54:41 PM] T: eat eggs
[12:54:52 PM] T: (blush)
[12:54:52 PM] Jodi: hahaha, that's great.

so, i'm a boring teacher and didn't pull any pranks on my students today... but i did teach a new batch of post grad students how to give a hug/man hug, high five, firm handshake, and how to "pound it"... they still need some practice but now the know the basics :)

the end.

zhe shi shenme? (what is this?)

there's so many interesting things in china that you don't find everyday in america... here are just a few, see if you can guess what they are (answers are at the bottom)

answers:
-packets of "tissue" which are also used as napkins, toilet paper, and regular tissue for the nose or tears :)
-you tell me haha.. i actually forgot what this one is.. something like chicken foot and olives or liver tongues and beans? i have no idea.
-shoe shower caps, you put them over your shoes to keep the floors inside clean (works great for when you have a huge party and you don't want everyone to take off their muddy shoes!)
-bags of milk, they don't really come in cartons or gallons here.
-chunks of chinese ribs... they have about 1/4 the meat of an american rib but at least it's tasty and cool looking! :D
