a little blue book

this story actually happened a couple weeks ago but i haven't had time to blog about it until now..

so the other day i was at my friend ruthy's apartment down the hall doing work with her to get away from the distractions of the internet and my bed... well i needed to find the meaning of a word for my quiz so i asked her if she had a dictionary (weird to think that most people don't use those anymore bc they have iphones, electronic ones, and dictionary.com)... she went and brought back a small little blue book and said "actually, i think i got this from your sister at one point when she was giving away some books.."

cool, i thought to myself. i looked up the word i needed but then was curious to see when this antique-like dictionary was made... i found this name on the first page:

then turned the next page and found this name:

Francis Poon was my uncle that passed away about a month ago and my close friend who happened to just be living inin China on the same floor happened to have his dictionary at a time that i rarely need a dictionary... i don't think that's coincidence at all. it's a pretty amazing and special to be reminded of him through a little blue book.
