it's not everyday...

you meet a russian man that you have something very rare and strange in common with!

this past weekend i went to visit samson in QHD... it was super fun. one of the highlights was lunch with one of his russian teacher friends (dasha) and her husband (eugene, who doesn't speak english), they invited us to her home to eat some delicious homemade russian cuisine...yum. well, for some reason we started talking about russian stereotypes (russian ballet, hockey, siberia, alcohol... haha) and dasha told us that her husband has never had alcohol before.. or smoked. WOW. i couldn't help but say, "me too!!!" haha he was equally shocked when she translated what i said.. it's not everyday that you meet a RUSSIAN that's never drank alcohol or smoked before. she told us he's a strange russian and his friends thinks he's crazy and sick... but he just decided it's not for him and doesn't want it.

so, in a word, he's a strange russian and i'm a strange american. we both never drank alcohol or smoked before! so fun to know i'm not alone in the world.. haha :)
