it's STILL raining (on and off- more on than off...), but our team leader made a unique list of positive things to make of it:
1) You don't have to worry about a drought!
2) We aren't inhaling as much dirt and pollution.
3) Grass and trees will be green and beautiful again.
4) Lover's Lane (a small lane outside our apartments with many "lovers") is pretty much cleared out for the time being.
5) Platypi LOVE swimming!
and i'll add...
6) Dancing in the rain is a very therapeutic feeling :)
this week had it's share of hardships, namely physically... it's really hard to believe we're in our 7 month and this year is slowly coming to an end :( trying to not think about it too much and enjoy each moment, even the crazy, tiring, or draining moments of life! i got a great email today from a student asking for an excused absence... bless his heart:
bahhhhh! isn't he precious?? oh my students... but don't worry there are times when it is just frustrating and hard teaching and they aren't so precious.. haha.. i've had to lay down the law a few times with cell phones in class (where i answer someone's phone and say (in broken chinese of course) "this is his/her english teacher... he/she is busy. thank you"... or give a 15 minute lecture on why respect is important and what it means to respect their classmates and to listen.. discipline and classroom management is a tough tough thing sometimes and i'm still learning how to go about it... i need more wisdom, patience, and love that only HE can provide!
well i think it's time for some visuals... and now for snappy snapshots :)
