this past weekend we had some wonderful visitors come to harbin and decided to do some "touristy" things like go to the tiger park and watch tigers devour live animals right before your eyes. for some reason the thought of the tiger park just sounded really cool and dangerous... and now was a prime time opportunity to go with several friends! at first we (especially the girls) were pretty pumped and excited about seeing tigers in a jurassic park like setting with the wired moving fenced gates inside our metal bar truck van... until they brought out the truck of food- a live little helpless sheep goat that the tigers mauled and toyed instantly. it was tragic, disgusting, and so so sad- especially hearing the little sheep cry for help!!
some thoughts that i've pondered throughout the whole excursion:
-i'm SO thankful i'm not an animal that is fed to tigers
-how did daniel do it in the lion's den? it's comforting to know that he is greater and stronger and able to control such beasts
-there were definitely little girls (about 9 years old) in our van watching everything... i wonder if they are vegetarians now?
-i don't like blood or watching animals get twisted or torn apart
-tigers can EAT and it's something they are VERY good at doing
-would they ever have this kind of park in america? probably not.
-to buy a sheep to feed to the tigers is about 600 yuan (almost 100 USD)... tai gui le! (too expensive! haha)
us girls taking a group picture with a dose of excitement before we were "traumatized"... (and a little chinese girl on the side for kicks hehe)
just like jurassic park.
the food dump truck and the little sheep/goat running for it's dear life! ahhh..!!
tigers on the prowl!
a dead tiger.. jk it was sleeping.
i sadly have a very short video of the tigers eating their lunch, not sure why i did it (since i was screaming and not looking half of the time haha)or why i'm posting it but if you are super curious or like watching that kind of stuff then have a look... but if not, just skip the video!! (warning- watch at your own risk, you may be disturbed!!)

oh my goodness, that does sound super traumatic! but i still appreciate your descriptions of everything. will you still eat meat?
i refuse to watch the video! haha... poor little lamb. i guess mary didn't take good care of it and it wandered off and the zoo captured it to feed to the lions...
