today i ran into one of chinese teacher friends, cherry, at the fruit store and we decided to walk back to the apartment buildings together. when we got outside she pointed out that she is like an "american" today (because we don't always follow the chinese traditions of wearing more clothes after a certain date) because she was not wearing many clothes... as i looked down i gasped in shock and horror to see capris... and SKIN!!! this is a big big "no-no" in china! haha right now everyone and their mom is wearing long underwear including myself (but mainly only when i go outside) because it's COLD. not freezing but 41 degrees with a nippy wind chill COLD. haha
as we walked back she ran into her old chinese neighbors from a distance who were scolding and lovingly yelling at her for wearing so little clothes haha... crazy cherry :) we love her, she's definitely NOT a normal chinese lady hehehe..
