woops.

it's been... a great deal of time since i've posted anything. sorry blog readers.

here's a few random things to keep you semi-updated :)

november 8th- performed as a "special guest" with bethany and joelle at a singing competition in a bar! yep- the one right next to the music store. it was pretty cool because the only songs i know to play the guitar are songs of praise, so we decided to sing, "sing to the king" and then there was an encore of "blessed be your name" haha.. still crazy to think we sang these songs publicly while Chinese people were getting VERY excited and clapping along... and they don't even know. :)

november 11th- veteran's day in america, single's day in china. wonderful. it actually was a tougher day- not so much because we had to work on an american holiday or because i'm wallowing in my singleness or anything.. but it was a humbling day getting feedback from students (they're not shy about sharing their thoughts and advice with you!) and recognizing and battling with my own sin and pride but also being reminded of His purpose and big picture in the scope of things. on that day the floodgates of america opened up through facebook, youtube, and blogger (still through a "hidden" way though) and it's crazy to see how life still goes on and how things and people have changed.. but not- at the same time.

november 16th- the coldest day of my life yet... i felt compelled to teach and review with my students today all the things that we wear in this cold cold weather... don't laugh at my drawing ;)
