blowing sand

was the forecast on google weather (one of my daily favorite websites haha) for today- although i'm not sure why they have a raindrop picture as the icon. i've definitely never experienced anything like it before... it felt like i was a giant-nasty-dust-globe being shaken with powerful tornado winds!

today was also Easter and some of us went to our local 3-self fellowship... the winds got super strong afterward and there were pieces of flying debris and every kind of dust possible. one lady had a scarf covering her head and ENTIRE face so we didnt even know what she looked like.. she started scolding me (since i'm the chinese one) about the children's faces that were not covered and their lack of clothes. she was so concerned to the point of hitting me on the back and continually shouting at me... i'm sure she means well and cares a lot about the children's health but it's still hard to accept and get use to such cultural differences.

enough of me rambling about the weather.. here's some pictures in attempt to capture the eventful weather :)

too bad you can see all the dust flying everywhere or see the wind.. but you get the idea ;)

notice my eyes and mouth are closed- in attempt to not get any more crunchy dirt in it.. not tasty or fun!

teamwork- steve helping to open the door.. i think i got some dust in my mouth then.

safely in my apartment with a lovely dusty view of the outdoors... i think i'm staying in for the rest of Easter :) egg hunting with the kids will come later next month when there's actually green grass and blue skies... i hope!

by the way... Happy Easter! reminded of the victory over death and that my savior LIVES today :)
