what's normal: baby pieces of meat

(i thought it might be interesting to start a random blog series of "what's normal" in china that will appear- randomly! hehe ...because what's normal here is probably not normal in america or any other country... hope you enjoy the differences and get a glimpse of my "normal" life in china!)

when you order a dish with "meat" in china, you might want to be aware that the portions of meat will be significantly smaller than the portions in america! it's completely normal to have baby (and by baby i mean little slivers or slices the size of your thumb) pieces of pork meat in your dish instead of a hunkin' 8 oz. piece of juicy red steak meat or a half rack of baby back ribs. many dishes in china include meat... just baby pieces of them! when all you have are just little pieces floating around, you get excited to find them and eat them... it's a great feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction :)
